Over 600 guests from the Philippine government, diplomatic corps, local and international civil society organizations, and Swedish and Philippine business communities enjoyed a night of Swedish food and music at the Swedish National Day 2019.

Hosted at the newest events hall in the country, The Fifth at Rockwell, the celebration was dubbed #TeamSweden. The highlight of the event was the videos specially produced by the embassy for the celebration.

The first was a “car-aoke” video featuring Swedish Ambassador Harald Fries driving around in a Volvo while bantering with the representatives of Swedish companies in the Philippines. The second was a video showcasing the development of the Swedish sport floorball in the Philippines.

Guests were also able to see the “Fashion Revolution: The Future of Textiles” exhibition, which the embassy imported from Sweden. The Swedish National Day celebration was organized by the embassy in collaboration with Volvo Car Philippines and other sponsors. —CONTRIBUTED
