In “Linear Imaginings” at Galerie Joaquin Podium, Jay Ragma pursues his geometric aesthetics, establishing relationships between simple and planar lines on surfaces.
A line, an outline, or any work that becomes any gauge of location in space is an intentional statement. It reflects what is taking place in the artist’s mind or psyche.
In “Linear Imaginings,” the colors are solid reds and blacks that become strong visual elements attracting viewers. Lines vibrate with their own life.
Infuenced by Swiss master Paul Klee, Ragma tries to
conjure magic through multitudinous lines across an expanse of black space. The zigzagging graphic elements become metaphors for life.—CONTRIBUTED
