Can’t get enough of K-beauty? Cop the looks of three Korean pop culture icons using makeup from The Face Shop.
THE INSPIRATION: Kim Bok-joo of ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo’
GET THE LOOK: This quirky character will always be remembered for her just-got-out-of-the-gym cheeks and lightly tinted lips. To achieve this look, dab peachy-coral cheek tint onto your cheeks, crossing over the bridge of your nose. Think drunk blush but toned down and diffused. Don’t have cheek tint or cream blush? Use a matte lipstick of the same color. For your lips, use the tip of your ring finger to dab a small amount of matte lipstick onto the center of your lips. For a more natural and juicy effect, top it with a hint of gloss.
THE INSPIRATION: Song Hye-kyo’s stunning smoky eyes postdivorce
GET THE LOOK: As soon as news of her divorce from Song Joong-ki (after 20 months of marriage!) made the rounds, so did a photo of her sporting sultry smoky eye makeup. She certainly knows how to turn tragedy into beauty.
To cop her look, roughly line your upper and lower lashes with a black pencil eyeliner, gently smudging it in the process. Set it with a deep brown or black eyeshadow. Make sure you blend it as you go up the brow bone to avoid the “panda eyes” look. Using your finger, pack on dark shimmery eyeshadow at the center of your lids for added dimension. Keep everything else to a minimum by using a subtle peach blush and nude my-lips-but-better lipstick.
THE INSPIRATION: Lisa’s look in the ‘DDU-DU-DDU-DU’ music video
GET THE LOOK: With killer dance moves and a look to match, Blackpink’s Lisa is one of the most followed (on social media) K-pop idols of her time.
To achieve her fierce vibe from the group’s “DDU-DU-DDU-DU” music video, first create an outline using a flesh-tone eyeliner. Next, trace it with a black liquid eyeliner with a fine tip. For your face base, use a luminous foundation or cream cheek color, and lightly set it with powder. You may opt to add a highlighter on the high points of your face to add to your overall glow.
