MANILA, Philippines – On the heels of crowning achievements with her first best actress award and her second historical box office hit, Kathryn Bernardo shows no hint of slowing down. Setting another laurel with her many accolades, the actress is now in the works of a collaborative project as the new Keds Philippines Ambassador.
Her transition from teen queen to the reigning box office queen was an achievement in itself, but to many, her most important title is that of a role model to many young women. “I am humbled of course,” Kath says, “but I’ve learned that confidence is what empowers me as an actress, and what helps me become a better woman to support other women.”
Kath’s personality fits well into the brand and its mission to create a culture of female empowerment. “I’ve always been a fan of Keds because the shoes are classic and iconic – they are great ‘everyday’ shoes and are always in fashion,” that is why she is excited that her collaboration with the brand is in the curation of her favorite pieces. Keds celebrates the collective power of women to step forward and shape the future. Kath adds, “It feels like I’m able to share my love for the brand and its ideals in a more tangible way.“

The Kath’s Picks collection is close to her heart. Kathryn says “my favorite shoe is the Keds Champion, simply because it is so timeless and has so much history. They’re stylish and they complement most of my outfits, so they’re easily the ones I try on first.” The Keds Champion has been in style since 1916 and has always been a favorite fashion piece of many generations. Transcending trends, it has turned into a permanent style staple.
Kath’s Picks will include the Keds Champion which will be one of its highlights. “Imagine, one of the best things I love about Keds is that I am able to walk in the shoes of my role models Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and of course, Taylor Swift.”

Role Model To Empower Women
Kathryn’s launched her career at a very young age. “If people only choose to see the glitter and the glamour, then they’re missing an aspect of my life that I am very proud of – the hard work.” This is what makes her achievements so relatable for her many legions of fans. “I’m happy to be where I am now because of the many experiences that brought me here, and the many supporters who have helped me become who I am today.”
As a role model to many fans and followers, Kathryn uses her celebrity as a way to give back. She’s supported many charities and supported many advocacies for women, including the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, as well as supporting a push for women to participate in local governance.
Kathryn has become a pillar of strength, and a symbol of change in the industry. Her support system of women behind her has always been there every step of the way and she wants to share that feeling with her fans through Keds. “I’ve found some time to find myself this year and grow as an individual, but I’m also very excited to find out what the future has in store for us.”
