#1 Cj Hendry
Catherine Jenna “Cj” Hendry is a contemporary artist known for her hyper-realistic drawings. If you think those are merely paint splatter works, look closely. She has also collaborated with renowned designer Christian Louboutin for Art Basel Hong Kong.
Abstract artist Callen Schaub is known for his unconventional techniques and live performances of spin and pendulum paintings. He was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was a child and has since used painting and drawing as a medium for self-expression. He has worked with brands such as Bombay Sapphire and YSL, among others.
London-based artist and violinist Leonardo Frigo creates intricate illustrations using his fountain pen and handmade ink. As his website reads, “Leonardo creates this unique art form with the premise that his instruments can not only be listened to while played or merely visually appreciated in their original form, but read like storybooks.”
Japanese potter Haruya Abe is known for his meticulously patterned ceramics. Using a technique known as yokoku, patterns are carved into a mold and then pressed onto the tableware shaped on the potter’s wheel while pieces of clay are removed to create detailed patterns on vases and decorative bowls.
Maayan Zilberman is the founder of Sweet Saba, a New-York based candy line of “grown-up” candies that emulate real objects. As her website reads, “these poignant handmade sculptures offer a multi-sensory experience through memory, unexpected flavor, and a sense of humor.”
Colombian artist and designer Diana Beltran Herrera is known for her whimsical, lifelike sculptures of birds, insects, fish, and plants using ordinary materials like wire, cardboard, plastic, and paper.
