Last month Sam Fender performed an absolutely beautiful cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge.
Today, Fender released the recording in streaming platforms.
While remaining faithful to Winehouse’s original lyrics, Fender reflavors the track with a soulful saxophone accompaniment, a Sam Fender signature.
On Youtube a commenter wrote, “Even hearing this cover, I get an entirely different picture in my head than the original.” We cannot agree more.
