Let Gigi Hadid's facialist school you on the perfect DIY turmeric mask | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

You will inevitably encounter models like Gigi Hadid, Kaia Gerber, and Adriana Lima post their 24K gold mask selfies. If you spot this, know that the woman behind their luxurious treatments is Mimi Luzon.

Mimi is a skin wellbeing expert and celebrity aesthetician with 30 years of experience. She’s been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour UK, and Forbes for her work and also for her gold-infused products under her namesake label.

Lifestyle.INQ got some insider info on what at-home facial masks Mimi likes. She loves integrating DIY masks in her daily routine. She says, “When you have some extra time, invest in masks and use them as much as possible. I currently do a different one every day.”

Mimi also believes in the power switching out your face masks regularly. “Following Eastern skincare practices, it’s extremely beneficial for our skin to use a face mask with a different function every day; it could be firming, brightening, moisturizing, or detoxifying. Of course, you can use any mask you have in the house every other day, or you can make your treatments at home.”

Among the masks she likes to make, I zoned in her turmeric mask. Health buffs have long lauded turmeric’s benefits. It’s a super ingredient used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine to cure inflammatory conditions, skin diseases, wounds, digestive ailments, and liver conditions.

For your skin, turmeric is anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and antioxidant. It can help to treat acne scars, lighten dark marks, and prevent the formation of pimples. Mimi says it is excellent for glowing and soft skin.

Without any more ado, here’s Mimi’s Turmeric Mask recipe.

Turmeric Mask by Mimi Luzon

Ingredients
Teaspoon of flour
Spoonful of turmeric
Teaspoon of lemon
Spoonful of milk

Directions
Mix everything to create ointment on the skin for 20 minutes.

Mimi likes to use her Turmeric Mask in the afternoon. If you don’t have a conference call scheduled during your WFH hours, you could perhaps do this while you type away your deadlines. That’s what you call multi-tasking!
