TV host and Kapamilya celebrity Korina Sanchez showed non-believers of ABS-CBN that the network is an achiever. She did so by posting a photo of her awards which she earned for her programs in the said network, as seen on her Instagram account on July 8.

The “Rated K” host felt it wasn’t fair for naysayers to think that the Kapamilya network has not done anything right in its 65 years of existence in the broadcast industry.

“Sino ba yung nagsasabing walang ginawang tama ang ABSCBN? (Who said that ABS-CBN has never done anything right?) And that because of imperfections, and not even proven violations, it needs to be shut down? After 65 years of broadcast excellence?” she stated, accompanying the image of the awards she has accumulated through the years as a broadcast journalist of the network.

She feels that ABS-CBN bashers are wrong in thinking that the network did not pay its dues in its more than six decades of operation. Proof of their good work, she says, are the recognitions accumulated all these years..

“Am looking at just a few of the awards received by TV Patrol and Rated K, from both here and abroad. Modesty aside, there is a room full of trophies for just these 2 ABSCBN shows. Parang nakakalimutan yata ito. Kung napakaraming parangal mula sa pinaka-prestihyosong mga organisasyon ang network, hindi nga ba’t patunay yan na In The Service of the Filipino ang pinaghirapan naming lahat na gawin?” she lamented.

(It is as if it has been forgotten. As the network has received so many awards from prestigious organizations, isn’t that proof enough that all our hard work was “in the service of the Filipino?”)

Reacting to the way the franchise hearings were being conducted by the congressmen, she then asked, “What huge infraction did ABSCBN commit to merit such bullying and torture and disrespect from some of the Lower House Committee members? Anyway, hindi naman siguro krimen nanaman ang magtanong lang. Ewan ko ba.” (I think it’s not a crime to ask. I just don’t know.)

Her fans and followers could not help but express the same frustrations.

“Tama korina. Iba na talaga ang mundo ngayon they put you down if they don’t like you!!! Akala mo mga perfect sa buhay may mga baho naman na tinatago kakatakot kaya mag ingat talaga…,” @mariagoto1974 commented. (You’re right, Korina. It’s a different world now. They act as if they are perfect when they actually have filthy secrets. It’s scary, which is why we need to be careful…)

One @daintymalin believes that “These congressmen were not voted by the Filipinos, they were appointed by their own parties cause they are party list congressmen. So why were they [in] the most starring role during the hearing?…”

Another commenter, @ladyamethyst, in her reply to Sanchez, even quoted a motivational speaker and entrepreneur, saying, “Ms @korina what is so sad is that in reality they have more filth hidden in their closets.. ‘Arrogance is trying to convince others you’re more than who they know you are.’ — Bianca Frazier.”

Believing that some politicians are merely self-serving, @juanantoniomiguelmontevista stated, “They focus more on their personal interests rather than the welfare of the Filipino people Miss Korina. Soon they will all face the consequences of their actions and by that time they [will have] no chance to change everything they did to the networks as well as the Filipinos who were deprived of the information that ABS gave for more [than] 65 [years]. I will always be a Kapamilya and I stand with abs-cbn.” JB
