Singer Agot Isidro has just asked GMA’s TV news program “24 Oras” to do some fact-checking as a Twitter post initially thought of as coming from the show referred to her as a housemaid.
Isidro was reacting to a post by one @jamboihere on July 11 which showed what looks like a screenshot of “24 Oras” breaking news, stating, “Jinkee Pacquiao binili si Agot Esidro para gawing katulong sa bahay.” (Jinkee Pacquiao buys Agot Isidro to make her a housemaid.)
To this, Isidro asked in her own post on July 11, “Pa fact check naman @24OrasGMA. Mga trolls nga naman.” (Please have this fact-checked. Trolls being trolls.)
These all come after Isidro recently called out Pacquiao’s “insensitivity” for posting luxury Hermes and Louis Vuitton bikes amid the sufferings of Filipinos under the COVID-19 crisis. While there are those who supported Isidro, the huge Pacquiao fandom unleashed its wrath on her and started bashing her in social media.
Initially, Isidro’s Twitter followers agreed that the questioned post was done by trolls. But many also sarcastically commented that it was a meme meant to irritate her.
One @callietorresss told the singer that it was a fake account, saying “Troll po, [halatang] edited.” (It’s made by trolls. It’s obviously edited.)
With sarcasm, @phaybarky said, “Malamang edited yan haha common sense. Hanap kakampi lang?” (It’s likely edited. Have some common sense. Are you looking for an ally?)
One @kapamilya2geder chided the one who made the fake meme, saying, “Hah!! Galing mag edit ah, pero di marunong mag spelling. mag aral ka muna mag spelling before ka mag edit. Para di kahiya.”
(You’re a good editor but you don’t know how to spell. Study correct spelling first before you edit so you won’t be an embarrassment.)
Another commenter, @Raycah24, lambasted Isidro by asking her to do some “Humor check. That is clearly edited and its sole purpose is to irritate you. And it looks like they are winning.”
Meanwhile, @sylviathorne7 thinks that Isidro is “bringing more attention to it” by requesting a fact check. The commenter then snapped, “But then again, this is the most attention she’s had her entire career.”
One @OrangeFruitas belittled Isidro by saying, “Mas nagmukha kang lowclass Agot at mas tumaas tingin ng karamihan kay Jinkee. Isip isip muna kasi before magtweet. Bumababa tuloy tingin ng tao sayo na.”
(You’ve become low class while people look up to Jinkee. Think before you tweet. People have looked down on you.)
With the way things are going, it looks like Isidro can expect a little bit more outbursts, and maybe even some trolling, from non-fans in the coming days. JB
