Faico does sculptural interpretations of Sansó iconography | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

“Serene Grace”

“Bright Side of the Moon” is sculptor and jewelry designer Faico’s tribute to veteran Catalan artist Juvenal Sansó.

CEO and chief designer of Hoseki Jewelry Art, Faico struck a friendship with Sansó more than a decade ago. Sansó became his mentor and bosom friend. Faico later pursued sculptural interpretations of Sansó’s works.

“A Euphoric Romance”

In his interpretations, Faico has adapted decorative elements particular to Asian jewelry, such as coral, lacquer and enamels. His designs interpret Sansó’s iconography of island rock formations, coral reefs and abstracted minerals of the sea.
Faico was included in the South Sea Pearl Consortium’s “White Magic,” a traveling exhibition and publication featuring works by 17 world-renowned jewelry artists. With three consecutive wins in the International South Sea Pearl Design Competition under his belt, Faico continues to innovate in jewelry design. —Lito B. Zulueta INQ
