• Is SM Supermalls ready for MECQ?

Yes, SM Supermalls is very prepared for MECQ as we have created many ways our customers can shop for essentials, even from their car or home. But in case they really have to go to our malls, we assure everyone that our establishments are safe, clean, and regularly maintained and sanitized as we continue to implement strict safety protocols. Meanwhile, essential shops and services such as supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, hardware, computer stores, appliance stores, The SM Store, and other retail stores will remain open and select restaurants will be allowed for takeout and delivery.

• How will MECQ affect your mall hours/business operations?

Our base mall hours will be from 10AM to 6PM but this may vary depending on the directive issued by the local government units. We also work closely with the LGUs to strictly implement guidelines and protocols to ensure safety of customers during the MECQ. In the coming days, while we shop for essentials, we ask everyone to continue to support MSMEs by ordering from our tenants, many of which are micro, small and medium enterprises. When you order from our malls, you also help our delivery riders, many of who were ex-construction workers, tricycle drivers and OFWs.

• What are your preparations this time around?

We never stop innovating and responding to the needs of our customers in this time of pandemic. Earlier this year, we have rolled out different online platforms where our customers can conveniently shop. There is the SM Personal Shopper Program of the malls – just call and someone will shop for you and deliver it to your home. We also have the Takeout and Delivery Viber community for food and other needs where SM has teamed up with different delivery companies such as Grab, Lalamove, and other pabili services. If you want to pick up your items in the mall, we have partnered with Waze for curbside pick-up points at the mall, where you don’t even have to come down from your car. The SM Store, SM Supermarket, and Watsons also have different online services where you can simply add to cart, check out, and have your essentials sent to your doorstep.
