TV host and weatherman Kim Atienza must have missed joining triathlons as he posted throwback photos of him during the annual Ironman competition.
“This week is Cebu Ironman 70.3 week,” he said on Instagram today, Aug. 6, where he shared his pictures during the sporting event.
Atienza revealed that he has been joining Ironman competitions every year. But this year is an obvious exception because of the onslaught of COVID-19.
“By God’s grace, I was able to join ALL #ironmancebu703 race since it started in 2012. This year is the only year I/we are not able to,” he said.
But Atienza remains positive amidst the pandemic, believing that this, too, shall pass.
“This year’s race is not an IM but is tougher and longer and trickier. I am assured like in ALL my races that we shall overcome this obstacle and finish the race together in HIM alone…ONLY through his grace,” he said.
Wishing marathon enthusiasts well, Atienza said, “Be safe and healthy Ironman brothers and sisters.”
Then, Atienza shared an apt bible verse from Philippians 4:13, “We can only do this through Him who gives us strength.”
Last January, Atienza reflected on his journey in becoming a triathlete, showing off his physique fitter at 53 compared to 10 years ago. NVG
