What should have been a warm welcome turned out to be an emergency situation for the eldest son of broadcaster Karen Davila and husband DJ. The boy, David, recently suffered a seizure just as he was supposed to greet his parents who arrived from Sorsogon.
Davila detailed how she and her husband turned frantic, as per her Instagram post today, Sept. 14.
“Yesterday afternoon, my husband DJ & I arrived from an overnight trip to Sorsogon. Our son David welcomed us at our condo lobby… when out of the blue, he just started having a full blown seizure!” Davila narrated as she showed her son in his hospital bed.
While “seizures can be common for kids with autism,” Davila stated that “David has never really had them.” She recalled he had only “one scary episode when he was 7 [years] old.”
Davila was glad that there were first responders in their condo lobby who helped them.
“They were fast thinkers, equipped to assist & knew what to do to make sure he would stay alive. And all I did was shout the name of our Lord Jesus Christ non-stop, asking HIM to heal & save David,” she said.
“David slowly woke up and we rushed him to the ER. I thank God his memory and faculties are perfect,” she added. “David is OK now and undergoing a 24 hour video EEG which helps monitor brain movement. Our goal is to prevent this from happening again.”
Because of what happened, Davila reiterated to her fans and followers the importance of faith and appreciating each other.
“There is POWER in the name of Jesus Christ! It doesn’t matter who you are, what church you go to, whether you think you’re a good or bad person – calling on the name of Jesus changes everything!” she said. “To God be the glory[!] Tell your family [and] friends how special they are! Appreciate LIFE.” JB
