Actress Dimples Romana believes that life should be a never-ending process of learning, and she stressed this as she recently reminisced about her days in school.

Romana recalled what life was then as she posted some throwback class photos in the kitchen, in her Instagram post today, Sept. 17.

She narrated how she started supporting her family at 12 years old, when she started working in showbiz.

“I became the breadwinner early on as my Papa also passed away young. Kailangan magtrabaho para mapaaral ang mga kapatid ko,” she said. (I needed to work to be able to send my siblings to school.)

But even while she’s already acting, Dimples did not give up on her studies and proudly declared that she graduated from public schools for her elementary and high school education.

Romana said that “the struggle was real” but she’s the type who wants to learn new things.

“Hindi din ako nahihiyang sabihin kapag hindi ko alam ang isang bagay,” she stressed. (I am not ashamed to admit if I don’t know something.)

While she was already working in a teleserye, “Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay”, she still pursued a college education, begging her mother if she can continue with her showbiz career while acting.

“[I] took up B.S. Tourism in UST (yes, go usteeeee) then had to stop for a bit and eventually had the privilege to study Culinary in Enderun Colleges, had to stop for a bit again dahil mag nursing na nun si @bamromana (because @bamromana was about to enrol in Nursing), but still so grateful for the two years I spent learning again,” she said.

Romana commended her “awesome professors and classmates” in culinary school while sharing some “#DimpsTips” to her fans: “Don’t ever give up on your dream. Keep investing in yourself. Spend your time wisely. [Who knows], the doors you thought would never open for you, WILL.” JB
