I never understood it when they said “Dress for yourself, and no one else” until now. I thought I practiced it in my life BC (Before COVID), but I was wrong. I get it now because of the uncountable days. I fully realize it as I can’t remember the last time I gussied up for something.
The old oversized shirts and worn-out shorts felt comforting and familiar at first. With less than 100 days left in 2020, though, I’ve come to find joy in dressing for your mirror.
I can’t quite commit to dressing up in “going out clothes” every day. Some people do, and they’ve reached a deeper understanding of life for it, I believe.
On the other hand, I sometimes feel ridiculous when I wear a decent top for the con call paired with leggings. There’s got to be a better way!
