Kakai Bautista on self-love: ‘You may never like me, but I like me’

Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all, or so says the popular song. That, in essence, is what singer Kakai Bautista is seemingly adhering to nowadays.

The Dental Diva stressed her love for herself via Instagram today, Oct. 1, where she posted a photo showing off her disheveled hair.

“You might not like this photo but I LIKE IT. You may never like me, BUT I LIKE ME. I LOVE ME,” she said.

She then spoke about the lessons she learned through the years about not paying attention to what other people might say against her.

“There will be people that will never like us. They hate us or maybe they don’t. They just don’t like us. AND IT’S OK. They have their reasons,” she said. “It’s OK because we are not obliged to like them also. True?”

“I’ve [learned] to appreciate those who appreciate me more. Yun ang importante (That’s what’s important),” she explained. “Ang mga taong nagtitiwala sa [iyo], at minamahal ka. Yun din ang bigyan mo ng importansya.” (The people who trust and love you, it’s them you ought to give importance to.)

The singer advised her fans to do what they love most and to “do it with passion, with love and the universe will reward” them. She also reminded them that God is the only one they should seek to “infinitely please.” JB
