Actress Bea Alonzo announced her collaboration with a streaming company to help some children in their education amid the pandemic, by giving them laptops.

Alonzo told fans about how she was tapped by the streaming platform for the partnership, via her Instagram page yesterday, Nov. 14.

“I want to share with you some good news. So, Netflix got in touch with me and they asked me if I could collaborate with them. Mas exciting ito for me (This is more exciting for me). You know why? Meron akong ride na naghihintay sa labas at gusto kong ipakita sa inyo. Ipe-flex ko lang,” she said in the video. (I have a ride waiting outside and I want to show it to you. Just want to flex it.)

As she stepped outside her house, Alonzo gushed upon seeing her ride.

“Oh my God. Hindi sila nagbibiro. Totoong spaceship siya,” she said. (They were not joking. It’s a real spaceship.)

What she was referring to was a yellow-painted jeepney made to look like a spaceship and where the title of a movie, “Over The Moon,” was written.

Through a series of photos, Alonzo could be seen inside the “spaceship” with a laptop and more laptops outside, all for the children of SOS Children’s Villages PH, a group that cares for abandoned children.

“Apart from our relief ops today to help the ones who were hit by the typhoon, Last week, I, together with my I AM HOPE TEAM, collaborated with Netflix to help with the education of the children of SOS. Maagang pamasko para sa mga bata,” she said in her post. (It’s an early Christmas gift for the kids.)

Alonzo also shared yesterday that she watched “Over The Moon” and was so inspired by its message of dreaming big and following your dream despite your circumstances.

“Now, I am aware that there are more pressing issues, survival must come first, especially in these trying times, but I pray that we will not lose hope,” she said. “We hope that through this donation, more kids will be able to pursue their dreams through education, just like Fei Fei does in [‘Over The Moon’].” JB
