Actress Dimples Romana could not hold back her tears upon hearing a cover of the song she first wrote, “Hawak Ko Ang Kamay Mo.”
Romana was emotional as she heard the song performed by a fan in Cagayan as per her Instagram post yesterday, Nov. 18.
The singer, who goes by the fan account @dimpsedits, dedicated the song to her fellow Cagayanos. She recalled the struggles she and her family went through with the recent floods and expressed gratitude to rescuers, as well as Romana whose song inspired hope.

The “Oh My Dad” star was touched by the performance: “First COVER that was tagged to me of my song #HawakKoAngKamayMo that I released last week I am crying. This song is very personal to me as it is the first song I’ve ever written and [sung].”
She was all praises for it, stating that it “not only sounds so much better than my singing, it also has a different feel and touch to it because we all come from different places, different views, we may be divided now, but in time we will all come to realize that we are all human.”
“We have our battles [every day] and we will overcome them if we only hold each other’s hands,” she stressed.
Romana said what she wrote is for anyone to sing, explaining that the “words and melody can be sang from a place of joy, happiness, of hope, weariness, and all sorts of other emotions we all go through each day”.
“Kahit anong pinagdadaanan, masasambit natin ito,” she mused. (Whatever we go through, we can sing this.)
“This song speaks of hope and of working together hand in hand. If you listen closely to the lyrics you’ll know what I mean,” she said.
She has one request, though, for anyone who will do a cover.
“P.S. kung kakantahin ninyo (If you will sing it) and you’ll do a cover of my song please use hashtags #HawakKoAngKamayMoDimples so I I’ll see it right away, repost it and maybe compile it to one whole music video.” NVG
