With the pandemic, actress Trina “Hopia” Legaspi learned a new skill and made herself productive in the process.

Legaspi shared how she discovered something new while on lockdown during the online conference for iWant TFC original “Bawal Lumabas: The Series” last Dec. 8.

“Because of the lockdown mas naging productive ako. Every day gumagawa ako ng to-do-list kasi ‘pag wala akong gagawin ay mas malulungkot ako, eh. Kailangan mayroon kang gagawin,” she initially said.

(Because of the lockdown, I became more productive. Every day I would make a to-do list because if I don’t have anything to do I would get sad. You need to do something.)

During the lockdown, the former “Goin Bulilit” actress developed a hobby.

“Marunong pala akong mag-vlogging. Although late na ako compared sa ibang celebrities pero for me ay learning experience siya. Natuto akong mag-edit ng videos ko. Naging independent ako,” she related.

(I realized that I could vlog. Although I am late compared to other celebrities, for me it is a learning experience. I learned how to edit my videos. I became independent.)

And just last month, Legaspi experienced the feeling of a lifetime after her boyfriend of many years, Ryan Jarina, proposed to her.

“Nakakatuwa naman na kahit with this situation, itong last month, love finds a way. Meron pa rin namang silver lining kasi nag-propose naman si Ryan,” she said.

(It’s heartwarming that even in this situation, just last month, love finds a way. There is still a silver lining because Ryan proposed to me.)

With that, Legaspi’s worries vanished. “At least mayroon akong something na ilo-look forward pa next year,” she mused.

(At least there is something to look forward to next year.)

Egged to share details of the proposal, Legaspi shared that the wedding planning came before the much-awaited “will you marry me” moment.

“Nakaplano na iyong venue, iyong church. That time kasi, meeting with the coordinator ay ordinary day lang siya. Akala ko ay magpapagupit lang siya. Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit barbershop ang pinili niyang proposal venue. So, akala ko ay magpapagupit, mag-i-inquire lang,” she shared.

(The venue, the church have already been planned out. At the time, meeting with the coordinator was an ordinary day. I thought he would just get a haircut. I don’t know why he chose a barbershop to be the proposal venue. So, I thought he would have his hair cut, that he will just inquire.)

Legaspi was surprised when Jardin proposed and she was happy that both their families were there for the momentous occasion.

As a couple, Legaspi revealed that they are prohibited from traveling together.

“Bawal kami mag-travel alone ni Ryan at saka bawal mabuntis agad. Bawal kaming mag-travel na kaming dalawa lang so I am looking forward ako na next year ay makakapag-travel kami ni Ryan na kaming dalawa lang,” she said.

(We are prohibited from traveling alone and from having a baby right away. We cannot travel together so I am looking forward to next year when we can travel together.)

As Ruby in “Bawal Lumabas: The Series,” Legaspi’s character is a homemaker in the family and is very motherly.

“Ako iyong medyo slow sa magkakapatid pero madiskarte naman. Nagtitinda ako ng longganisa. Meron akong insecurity kasi ang feeling ko ay ako ang medyo napag-iiwanan,” she said about her character.

(I am kind of slow among the siblings but I am resourceful. I sell longganisa. I feel insecure because I feel that I am being left behind.)

The series is currently streaming on iWant TFC. NVG
