Raising a son can really test one’s patience, according to the experience of singer-actor Kean Cipriano with his son Salem “Nukie” Cipriano.
He is now in awe of how his parents managed to raise three sons.
The Callalily frontman expressed his happiness — and at the same time his frustration — over his 1-year-old son as per his Instagram post yesterday, Jan. 6, where he showed an adorable photo of Nukie.
“This little dude knows exactly how to make me smile. He also knows how to annoy me,” Cipriano stated.

While he calls it a perfect “balance,” sometimes his and his wife Chynna Ortaleza’s patience is tested by his son.
“Sobrang kulit kasi nitong batang to. As in! Di ko [ma-explain]. Minsan napapa-tap out nalang kami ni @chynsortaleza,” he revealed.
(This kid is super stubborn. As in! I can’t explain. Sometimes, me and Chynna, we just tap out.)
But nonetheless, they still love their son and they understand his behavior.
“Pero ganun pa man, mahal na mahal namin tong kolokoy na to. Alam kong nasa exploration stage sya at curious sya sa lahat ng bagay. Tapos sakto pa na lumalaki sya sa panahon ng pandemic na nasa bahay lang talaga,” Cipriano explained.
(Nonetheless, we love this kid. I know he’s at an exploration stage and that he is curious about everything. He is also growing up in the time of a pandemic where he is just at home.)
What’s important for Cipriano is that his kid is happy and healthy.
“’Yun na ‘yon! Wala nakong hihilingin pa,” he mused. (That’s all! I can’t ask for more.)
Now, Cipriano appreciates what his parents went through in raising him and his brothers as kids.
“Ngayon gets ko na pinagdaanan ng magulang ko [sa ‘min] na tatlong magkakapatid na lalake. Haha. Salamat mommy @chonacipriano. I super appreciate everything. Love you,” he said.

Cipriano and Ortaleza had a civil wedding in 2015. For their 2017 church wedding, their daughter Stellar, born in 2016, was part of the black-themed ceremony. NVG
