With hosting chores coming few and far in between, Gretchen Ho is ecstatic to have finally hosted a major event for a radio show, despite the current conditions in the entertainment industry.

The TV host and former volleyball star shared with fans her excitement, posting photos and videos of the event on her Instagram page yesterday, Jan. 18.

“Hosted the FIRST LIVE EVENT in Araneta Coliseum since the lockdown with [Christian Bautista] and my sixth straight year with #WishMusicAwards,” Ho stated.

Ho also took note that having online viewers more than doubled the audience, considering the venue’s seating capacity.

“While only the awardees, performers and nominees were with us in Araneta, we had about 38,000 viewers via YT livestream from ALL OVER THE WORLD (more than the crowd capacity inside Araneta), and we also had more chances of interacting with them via Twitter (#1 TRENDING),” she said.

“It was such a treat for most of us being able to ‘perform’ live again,” she said. “Nakakamiss at iba pa rin talaga. Pero siyempre, kailangan SAFE ang lahat.” (We miss doing this and it’s really different [now]. But of course, everyone should be safe.)

Ho and all other participants in the event also observed health protocols, a must in every activity that involves numerous people nowadays.

“We all went through PCR swab testing, all the mics were being sanitized during the whole show and Araneta was also disinfected prior,” Ho revealed. “Just so happy to start 2021 this way. Hoping and praying that more and more from the events industry will have work. Slowly but surely and safely.” JB
