After being touched by the sight of an aspin, Megastar Sharon Cuneta decided to adopt this dog which came up to her while she was shooting a movie in Olongapo.
Cuneta expressed her delight as someone found the dog she was looking for, as per her Instagram page yesterday, March 17, where she also showed photos of the dog being given medical care.
Cuneta called the dog a “ray of sunshine” because it came while she was heartbroken too over the situation of her close friend, makeup guru Fanny Serrano, who she announced to have had a stroke last Tuesday.
“In the middle of a very scary, uncertain time in my life where the life of a confidante/mother-figure/loyal friend and long-time make-up artist whom I have loved for three decades seems to be on the brink… when I didn’t get to sleep a wink at all last night and am just having my first bite of food for the whole day, which I spent lying in bed and in darkness… God sent a ray of sunshine,” she said.
Cuneta profusely thanked Jervy Castillo of The Homeless Dog Shelter in Subic for finding the dog for her.

“They found you, my doggie that was meant to be mine! I could never stop thinking about you and now I cannot wait to hold you and love you the way you have always deserved to be! When you walked up to me and I patted your head, then you rubbed your face so very gently and lovingly on my leg, you seemed like you wanted me to take you home with me,” she recalled.
Once the dog completes its medical treatment, it will be brought home to Cuneta. She also stated that she does not care that the dog is already 8 years old; instead, she promised that she will take care of him like a prince.
“Mama’s here now and I will love you… I will make the rest of your years happy and you will NEVER have to search or beg for food again or a place to sleep where you would feel safe,” she promised. “[Never] have to panic to seek shelter from the rain and other elements… You will become a PRINCE and be loved like you’ve never been loved before!”
According to Cuneta, she will name the dog Pawi, after Marco Gumabao’s character’s name in the movie she was filming with him when she first saw the dog. The movie is the upcoming “Revirginized” which also stars Albert Martinez, Rosanna Roces and Cristina Gonzales.
Cuneta said in her social media last November that she already has ten dogs at home. JB
