Arci Muñoz has some thoughts about love and its attendant pains which she shared recently in an interview for her teleserye “Walang Hanggang Paalam.”

“Love is sacrifice,” the actress declared during the online press conference for the series, last Monday, April 12. “You know whether it gets reciprocated or not, you feel it. It’s hard to stop that emotion once you feel na (that) you’re deeply in love. It brings joy and happiness to you.”

For her, sacrifice comes naturally when one is really in love.

“Whatever happens along the way, kung mahalin ka man ng tao na mahal mo, alam mo sa sarili mo na nag-sacrifice ka, and at the end of the day, you know what’s true in your heart,” she said.

(Whatever happens along the way, whether the one you love loves you back or not, you know that you sacrificed, and at the end of the day, you know what’s true in your heart.)

When asked if she thinks one should say goodbye in that case, she said “it depends on the circumstances.”

“If it is love and you think that you already poured your whole heart and your whole soul, your everything tapos wala pa rin (but still there’s nothing), maybe it’s about time you give yourself the respect and the love that you’re supposed to give to another person,” she said.

“Maybe it’s a calling, it’s a lesson. Maybe it’s time for you to love yourself first,” the actress added.

As “Walang Hanggang Paalam” airs its finale episode this week, Muñoz thanked ABS-CBN and the production people for coming up with a soap opera even when it was denied a franchise by the government.

“There’s no denying that we’ve really been through a lot while doing this soap. But all thanks to these people — the cast, the crew, the staff — who made it easier,” she said. “I want to acknowledge and thank all the people behind the camera kasi (because) it’s not really easy. It wasn’t easy but we all came through and I am just really glad to be part of the show.”

In the series, Muñoz plays Sab, a special agent who has not gotten over her feelings for her ex-boyfriend Emman played by Paulo Avelino. JB
