Keann Johnson is acknowledging the fact that his Boys’ Love movie “The Boy Foretold by the Stars” has changed his life dramatically.

“It changed me in so many aspects from my personality to my lifestyle. I have to adjust to a lot of things after ‘The Boy Foretold By The Stars’ came out,” Johnson revealed during an online press conference for the launch of the third batch of six new teens to join Squad Plus, on May 3.

His successful performance in the 2020 film thus led Johnson to join Angelica Lao, Danica Ontengco, Renshi de Guzman, Margaux Montana and Raven Rigor in this third batch of Squad Plus.

Since there are so many showbiz activities Johnson has to attend to, he took a hiatus from studying.

“I am focusing on itong bagong teleserye na pinaghahandaan namin. Tsaka ‘yung sa series din ng ‘The Boy Foretold,'” he said. (I am focusing on this new teleserye we are preparing for, and on the series for ‘The Boy Foretold…”)

But the biggest blessing, according to the young actor, is becoming a part of ABS-CBN.

“I think this is one of the biggest blessings I’ve had in life,” he said, as he shared how surprised he was to have been invited to be part of Squad Plus.

“Sunud-sunod ang mga blessings na nakuha ko along with Squad Plus. And noong nalaman ko na I was part of it, sobrang tagal bago nag-sink in sa akin kung ano ang nangyayari ngayon,” he said.

(The blessings came in succession along with Squad Plus. And when I learned I would be part of it, it took so long to sink in, what was happening now.)

The young actor was also happy with this development since he’s already been in the industry for quite some time.

Doing a video with Gold Squad members Seth Fedelin, Kyle Echarri, Andrea Brillantes and Francine Diaz was a welcome experience for Johnson.

“That was actually the first time I met them and really got to know them. We were there for a while working together,” he said. “First impression ko sa kanila is that they were all fun to be with. Sobrang nakakatuwa ang personality nila lahat.” (My first impression of them is that they were all fun to be with. Their personalities are extremely fun.)

But what surprised him was his encounter with Brillantes as it was very candid. Instead of plainly greeting him, Brillantes asked what his birthday was and what’s his zodiac sign. Afterwards, the whole conversation turned wacky.

“And this whole topic started throwing… ‘Oh, I’m Sagittarius. ‘Oh, I’m Scorpio.’ ‘Okay, I think we match because of the sun and moon,'” he recalled. “Because of that, I will never forget that first moment that I really got to bond [with them in the] dressing room.” JB
