Actress Kris Bernal turned a year older yesterday, had a simple celebration, and shared with fans her thoughts on contentment and acceptance.
“For me, being content is feeling fortunate. Feeling happy about the things I have and what the future has in store for me, instead of complaining about the things I don’t have and worrying about what I cannot change,” said the former Kapuso actress in her Instagram post yesterday, May 17. She shared a photo of herself in an escalator while inside a grocery store.
Even without a lavish party and having “nothing fancy,” and while she was not with her whole family, Bernal managed to enjoy her special day, knowing that she is “loved by the important people” in her life.
“Your birthday wishes and greetings are enough gifts for me,” she added.
In another post on the same day on Instagram, Bernal thanked everyone who accepts her despite being “beautifully broken, perfectly imperfect, and permanently and inevitably flawed.” Lastly, she thanked her fans for their support.
“You prove to me that whatever I show here on social media and behind the cameras, there’s no judgment or hate,” she said. “Just so you know I am not always what I post. My life is far from perfect just like yours.”
Bernal and businessman boyfriend Perry Choi are preparing for their wedding this year. JB
