TV host Bianca Gonzalez feels there is nothing wrong in having her kids wear hand-me-down clothes.
She actually enjoys receiving pre-owned dresses for her children, as shown in her Instagram page yesterday, May 19, where she shared a video of assorted pretty clothes sent for her daughters.
“My kids and I have been huge fans/supporters/believers of HMD Collections since they were born! (A term coined by my brother, HMD as in hand me downs). Especially since babies and toddlers outgrow clothes SO fast, nasasayangan talaga ako (I feel it’s a waste) to buy new clothes,” she stated.
Gonzalez revealed that since birth, her children’s clothes are 75% “HMD,” with around 15% being gifts and just a few pieces bought.

“I am so grateful to my sister-in-law @tracypamgonz and the kids Ate Sabine for sending us most of her HMDs,” she said, even taking note of the good smell of the box from the States. “[And] so thankful to @rissamananquiltrillo, Celestia and Audra who have been sending us batches of their beauuuutiful clothes that are too small na for them, ever since my kids were born.”
The clothes are “well taken care of,” and her kids are always excited to try them on. She hopes that more parents will “normalize” accepting hand-me-downs. Of course, she observes for safety protocols on the clothes, like washing them well before letting her kids wear them.
“Kasi hindi lang siya tipid (It is not only economical), it’s practical, sustainable, and it encourages sharing,” she noted. “Walang dapat ikahiya kung hand me down ang suot.” (There’s nothing to be ashamed of if you wear hand-me-downs.)
The TV host has two daughters, Lucia Martine and Carmen Eliana, with her husband, basketball star JC Intal. JB
