Commitment has a deeper meaning for news anchor Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo, and it’s a meaning beyond the scope of romantic relationships.
Aguinaldo spoke about the complexities of totally honoring a commitment in her Instagram post today, June 9.
“When we say ‘I do’ I learned that we cannot ‘half-commit.’ I do is I do,” the newscaster said.
Commitment entails a lot of things and Aguinaldo warned people that “before we COMMIT to doing something- think of the energy, the time – and yes the discomfort of commitment. It will not be always convenient for everybody.”
She then connected this to making a commitment with God, saying, “[There] is no [gray] area in choosing God. There is no half baked service.”

Sembrano said this may look hard, but she also pointed out that even before one commits to God, God has already committed to the person, “maging sino ka man” (whoever he is). She believes people should be grateful for this.
After her reflections on commitment in faith, she greeted her husband Emilio “Orange” Aguinaldo IV a happy anniversary.
“Incidentally, Happy anniversary in advance to my Asawa [husband] Orange. We never expected marriage to be easy – but thank you being the person so easy to love – and being an instrument of God’s love in our lives,” she said.
The newscaster and her husband exchanged I do’s on June 12, 2008. JB
