Rockwell Father's Day

Written by: Raoul J. Chee Kee

Dad is the first man in our life. He’s the man we look up to for advice and the one who often has the final say—that’s if Mom agrees. Father’s Day this year falls on June 20 but we can always toast to Dad especially after all we’ve been through in the last year.

To celebrate the man of the hour, Rockwell has lined up a series of activities both onsite and online.

Car aficionados can check out the display of Lexus cars at the North Court, R1 Level at the Power Plant Mall that is sure to rev up their interest. Later, you can shop for presents for Dad at participating stores offering great deals and discounts.

In their desire to further connect with customers and provide them with a more seamless and convenient shopping experience, Power Plant Mall launched an e-commerce website, shop.TheRockwellist.com. Here, patrons can choose from curated gift sets consisting of a personalized Klean Kanteen and Aquazorb sports towel or a Diptyque car diffuser and leather key fob from Fino.

There are also several liquor sets to choose from consisting of a trio of Malbec wines, Remy Martin VSOP Cognac, Macallan Highland Single Malt Scotch Whiskey, or whiskey appreciation sets from The Tasting Club. If Dad prefers G&T, Grace Park has a gin and tonic set with ARC Botanical Gin and Italian tonic water.

Grace Park’s Gin & Tonic kit makes for a unique and refreshing treat that will surely delight dad.

In time for Father’s Day gifting, customers can avail themselves of Rockwell On Demand, the mall’s buying assistance service via the Rockwellist mobile app.

Rockwell has also prepared a special gift box containing two whiskey glasses that customers can get for free once they reach the minimum spend of P40,000 from June 14 to 20. The glasses are packaged in a ready-to-give shop.TheRockwellist.com box.

The digital shopping platform also showcases different brands such as ArteFino, 1919 Chocolate, Maison Metisse, Pili Ani, and Fifth Code, among others.

Dining options

Depending on what Dad is craving, you can treat him to a meal outdoors or inside the mall. A number of well-loved restaurants have signed up to be part of Rockwell Goes Streetside at Lopez Drive, One Rockwell, and along the Plaza Driveway (near the mall entrance beside Zara). Socially-distanced tables and chairs will be set up in these areas for those who want to dine alfresco.

No need to worry about soaking up too much sun or getting drenched as Rockwell has literally got you covered. Umbrellas to protect diners from the heat of the sun or sudden downpours have been provided as well as industrial fans to keep the outdoor areas cool when it gets warmer.

Similar setups are already in place at Santolan Town Plaza and The Grove to cater to customers who live in and around those areas. “As alfresco dining seems like it’s here to stay, we’re constantly finding ways to improve customer experience,” said Tracey Castillo, Assistant Vice President for Residential and Retail Development.

Walk-ins are accepted for both indoor and outdoor seating but just to be sure, customers might want to consider calling their preferred restaurant in advance. Contact details can be found at therockwellist.com/directory.

“They may reserve seats early in participating restaurants such as The Grid, Din Tai Fung, Phat Pho, Manam, Ooma, 8 Cuts, Chili’s, Shi Lin, and Cafe Mediterranean via The Rockwellist mobile app’s Book-A-Visit feature,” Castillo said. The expanded outdoor setup at the Plaza Driveway will also have more restaurants to choose from, guaranteeing more seats for customers.

To ensure the safety of their customers, some tenants have gone beyond what’s required of them and come up with their own safety measures. Mamou, The Moment Group restaurants and The Grid have initiated their own vaccination promos.
