Actress and fitness coach Michelle Madrigal wanted to test her speed before doing a longer distance in her runs, so she recently decided to run about 4.80 kilometers (3 miles) as a warm up.
“Just finished a 3 mile run. I wanted to test where I was at and my fastest was 9:23 (still slow for most people I know hence why I train harder). Although I’ve come far considering running 12mins/mile before,” she said in her Instagram page on June 18.
She added that since running has always been a challenge for her, she would rather sprint first before doing 10 kilometers.
Madrigal shared she broke down in tears on mile 2 because she was telling herself to run faster and beat her earlier “8:23 mile run.”
“All these emotions started to catch up… and the only question I had for myself was, what are you running away from??? I had to DIG DEEP,” she said.
“I let my emotions flow this morning because I knew this would give me clarity. I’m here to inspire but I’m also here to show you that you aren’t alone. Anxiety [and depression] is real. Negative thoughts can easily dim your day,” Madrigal explained, as she urged her fans to “fight through it every single day.”
“You can control and decide how you want to feel,” she stressed.
Madrigal recently joined a global fitness competition, Ms. Health & Fitness. Previously, she also participated in Hyrox America, in Austin, Texas where she placed fifth in her age group. JB
