Actress and yoga instructor Maxene Magalona has shared her daily morning ritual to fans and followers, which is made up of yoga exercises, jounaling and meditation.
“In the spirit of #InternationalSelfCareDay, I thought I’d share my morning routine which has naturally evolved into my daily spiritual practice. What started as a self-care routine has slowly become my personal time with God,” she said in her Instagram page today, July 25, where she also showed videos and photos of her ritual.
Magalona starts her ritual at 4:30 a.m., cleansing her energy by “practicing Tantric Hatha yoga” which she described as an ancient tradition she studied while living in Canggu, Bali. With consistency and dedication, she shared that the practice can help in realizing higher truths and achieving excellence.

She starts her “silent meditation at 5 a.m. for at least an hour practicing a technique called Vipassana,” which she learned at a 10-day silent retreat in Uluwatu, Bali.
“Our teacher @meditationdave taught us how to meditate for 10 hours a day, feel all the sensations in the body, not react and just breathe through the discomfort,” she said. Since she started this practice, she has become more in tune with her emotions and can now catch herself when she gets triggered.
“Vipassana allows me to tap into all the unresolved issues and blockages within myself and work with them gently day by day so if I have to cry, I just let the tears fall,” she shared. “This is how I liberate stuck energies. Then, I close every meditation with a sincere and heartfelt prayer of gratitude to God.”
Magalona is either reading a book while sipping coffee or tea by 6:30 to 7 a.m. She also writes in her journal during rainy days, such as today. She learned the art of doing journals at the School of Healing Arts Yoga in Ubud, Bali.
“I don’t think when I journal — I just let the words flow from my heart. It’s an incredible release. Thanks for the tip, @_annafries,” she said. “This is my sacred time and space with God.” JB
