Life for TV host Joyce Pring was a peaceful one, until the pandemic hit the country and changed everything. She looked back on how her life was before and how it is now, in her Instagram page today, Aug. 5, where she showed fans an old photo of herself standing before an image of the artist Vincent Van Gogh.

“Sometimes I look at old photos like this one, and it feels like it was just a hazy dream — a distant memory — that we all used to live lives of so much liberty,” she said. “And I don’t just mean being able to walk around maskless and visit museums, I mean, actually waking up and going to bed not gripped by worry or fear of the unknown.”

Pring admits she is not sure of many things such as the effects of the pandemic on livelihood and the country overall. Health is also a concern for her as she expressed uncertainty if she will remain healthy, including her loved ones.

“It’s weird, living in this kind of paradoxical dystopian world where death tolls are constantly reported on, but at the same time we still get to celebrate life’s simple joys like sports, food, music, etc,” she said. “I’m so amazed at how resilient the human spirit is, and how well we adapt — when, looking at this photo, life was so different before all this.”

Pring and her husband, fellow TV host Juancho Triviño, welcomed their firstborn son, Alonso Eliam Pring Trivino, last July. They marked their first wedding anniversary last February. JB
