Megastar Sharon Cuneta is calling on her friends and followers to help aid a neglected dog that is now currently being taken care of by the Pawssion Project.

Cuneta lamented the condition of the dog, named Jake, as she reshared the non-profit animal rescue group’s post via her Instagram page earlier today, Aug. 9.

“My heart breaks for this baby. Please please help. Every [peso] counts. Thanks so much and God bless you,” Cuneta said, disclosing that Pawssion Project has already got P5,000 as of 1 p.m. today.

According to the rescue group, Jake was a formerly neglected pet that “was tied outside of the house, stayed at a muddy area, rain or shine.” The dog was also never given medical attention despite its sorry condition.

A tumor started to grow on his ear but was never ever attended to for about a year. Fortunately, a concerned person saw Jake and reported her to the Pawssion Project.

The rescue group then took Jake from Cavite all the way to Bulacan, where he was checked by a veterinarian and was confirmed to have distemper for never having received any vaccine.

Confined for 11 days now, Jake need help for distemper rehabilitation and chemotherapy sessions, according to the Pawssion Project.

Cuneta is one of the “pawnters” of the Pawssion Project. She got in touch with the foundation earlier this year after adopting a dog from the group, which she named Pawi. IB
