As a “Pinoy Big Brother” (PBB) housemate way back in 2008, current host Robi Domingo could not forget the experience, even after many years since he got out of the PBB house.

“Siguro not just a host but as a housemate because as a teen ay iyon naman ang hinahanap mo, parent’s approval mo,” Domingo said during the Aug. 30 online press conference for the latest season of the show, “Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10.”

(Maybe it’s not just about being a host, but as a housemate [too], because as a teen, that is what you look for, your parents’ approval.)

“I came out at the Big Brother space back in 2008. It was the Big Night. Umakyat ‘yung parents ko and then si Papa ay niyakap ako and he said, ‘Nak, job well done,’” he said when asked what his most memorable moment in the show was.

(My parents went up [the stage] and then Papa embraced me and said, “My son, job well done.”)

With that, Domingo felt he was the big winner even though he didn’t get the title. EJ Falcon, the “Promdi Hottie” of Mindoro, was the winner in the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus in 2008.

As a housemate back then, Domingo experienced a new environment, which is also something that he misses. He remembers that his batch went to Palawan for a week.

“Ang sarap ng pakiramdam. At least iba ‘yung setting but nandoon pa rin ang kaba,” he said.

(It felt good. At least the setting was different. But the nervousness was still there.)

Of the many housemates, there were two which made an impact on him: Melai Cantiveros and Maymay Entrata.

“They have that kind of personality na punung-puno ng (full of) charm. I think they can talk to anyone especially if you’re having a bad day. Instantly, without doing anything they can make you smile,” he said.

To audition for “PBB Kumunity Season 10,” hopefuls just need to download the Kumu app, create an account, and upload a 1-minute introduction clip saying why one is deserving to become a housemate and using the hashtag “PBBKumuAdults.”

Auditions for the Adult Edition for those who are 20 to 40 years old will be until Sept. 30, while auditions for the Teen Edition, for those 15 to 19 years old, will begin on Dec. 1 to 31 and will use the hashtag “PBBKumuTeens.” JB
