For many Filipino students, taking graduate or postgraduate studies abroad seems like an unattainable dream. However, this does not have to be the case. The 2021 European Higher Education Fair (Ehef) allows students from across the country to hear from the EU member states, cultural groups and alumni as to why they should pursue a higher degree from the European Union (EU).
Ehef is determined to give Filipinos access to reliable information by connecting students, academicians, researchers and university officials to world-class higher education institutions from across the EU. Interested individuals can register at ehefphilippines.com, free of charge.
This year’s fair is organized by the EU delegationto the Philippines and the EU member states’ embassies, education services and institutes in collaboration with the Philippine Commission on Higher Education.
Diversity and excellence
The fair started yesterday, and is being streamed live on the Ehef website and Facebook page of the EU delegation to the Philippines.
This year’s Ehef is not one to miss, as it is the biggest yet in its 11-year history. Despite the obstacles that the COVID-19 pandemic has posed, Ehef took the opportunity to maximize the digital platform and welcome 140 higher education systems from the EU to offer master’s and doctorate programs, along with 13 Philippine university partners.
The participating EU member states for this year are Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, France, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Finland and Sweden. “Ehef 2021 promotes the diversity and excellence of higher education in the EU,” EU Ambassador Luc Véron stated. “Useful, practical and comprehensive information about the different mobility initiatives and distinctive higher education programs will be available at your fingertips.”
He added that Filipinos have always been successful in applying for and getting accepted into scholarship programs and the EU institutions.
EU is renowned as one of the top centers for academic excellence and is known as a space for state-of-the-art technologies, innovation and cultural diversity. Outside of academia, EU allows students to experience various cultures and travel easily to some of the world’s most iconic and historical destinations.
“Go Higher with EU,” Ehef 2021’s motto, does not only apply to one’s academics—Ehef wishes to provide these opportunities to Filipino students for the benefit and enrichment of their holistic being. Véron said that since EU is open for in-person education, students will be able to learn and explore their campus and beyond in person.
Those interested will be able to attend two days packed with webinars on specialized courses and programs, country presentations and live chats with representatives, alumni and scholars from the institutions featured in the fair.—CONTRIBUTED INQ
