If there’s one song that has given veteran singer-actress Agot Isidro anxiety and panic attacks, it is American singer Colbie Caillat’s hit “Bubbly.”

The revelation came from Isidro herself when she shared what the song meant to her in her Instagram page today, Dec. 7, where she also showed an album photo of Caillat. The song, according to Isidro, brought back not-so-good memories of her past.

“It triggered memories of a very dark time in my life. At one point, I ran, in tears, out of a shoe store in an outlet mall in California when I heard this song play. And that’s Disneyland for a lot of women,” she said.

She was so traumatized by the song that she gave an account of how it affects her: “Every time I hear the intro, I would skip or change station or simply walk out of the establishment.”

But she seemed destined to really hear the song as she shared how she accidentally heard it again after not hearing it for a very long while.

“Today, on a long drive, this came out of the mix. Didn’t hear this for so long. So I said, ‘Sige nga’ (Go ahead),” she said. The effect of the song on her now is different.

“Nothing. Was even singing along,” she said, calling the moment a “breakthrough.” “So proud of myself, and where I am. Long journey, but we get there.”

There’s also one thing she realized after hearing the song again: “So point of the story, no matter where you are in life, you will be ok. We will be ok.” JB
