For Kapamilya actress Janine Gutierrez, being called beautiful is a flattering experience.

The star of “Marry Me, Marry You” was chosen as one of the “100 Most Beautiful Faces” in 2021 and has placed 78th in the list by TC Candler.

When asked for her reaction during the online press conference for the last three weeks of the series, Jan. 4, Gutierrez answered, “Flattered, flattered. I think ang pinakamaganda naman talaga ay mga Filipina.” (I think the most beautiful are Filipinas.)

When pressed to share her beauty secret, Gutierrez replied, “I think it really has to come from the inside na masaya ka (that you are happy) and you also make the people around you happy. I think ‘yun talaga ‘yun.” (I think that’s it)

Also in the list were Ivana Alawi who ranked fourth and Liza Soberano who placed 18th.

Meanwhile, Gutierrez feels that she has accomplished her dream to star in a rom-com via “Marry Me, Marry You.”

“Sobrang saya and I am really, really thankful. Palagi ko naman itong sinasabi, matagal ko nang ginustong makagawa ng rom-com and I am so thankful sa lahat ng fans na sumuporta from the beginning hanggang ngayon sa finale media con, nandito kayo at sobrang kinapitan ninyo ang kuwento namin,” she said.

(I am so happy and I am really, really thankful. I always say this, for the longest time, I’ve been wanting to do a rom-com and I am so thankful to all the fans who supported us from the beginning, until this finale media con. You’re here and you hung on to our story.)

She takes pride as well in having Jake Ejercito and Paulo Avelino as leading men.

“They’re the best. Siyempre binusog nila ako ng pagkain at pambu-bully (they had me full with food and bullying) but I am really so happy to be part of this cast,” she said. “I think we gelled so well and sobrang naging pamilya talaga kami (we were really a family).”

Gutierrez also shared how she spent the holiday season.

“We were complete dito sa bahay ko. So, nanood lang kami ng fireworks sa roof deck and kumain, nagkuwentuhan. Parang wala akong nagawang mga bilog na prutas. Puwede pa bang humabol? Pero nag-polka dots ako,” she said.

(We were complete in the house. So, we just watched fireworks at the roof deck, and ate and talked. I think I did not prepare round fruits. Can I still do so? But I dressed up in polka dots.) JB
