Lenovo Yoga Tab 11 review: Achieve work-life balance with this elegantly-crafted tab for work & play

The work-from-home situation requires two things: comfort and convenience. From the workspace to the devices, the said factors are essential. Thankfully, tablets have been created to serve as the middle-ground between stationary desktops and not-that-light laptops, which is where the new Lenovo Yoga Tab 11 comes in.

This device is an outlier in the world of gadgets for the WFH individual, that’s all set for comfort, functionality, and entertainment. Lenovo gave this reviewer a [week] to review the Yoga Tab 11, and you best believe it has been added to our “virtual” cart since.

Here’s why.

The Lenovo Yoga Tab 11 is a handy device

The tablet is practically lightweight, weighing 1.44 lbs. Its slim and sleek exterior makes it easy to lug around the device wherever, whenever. In cases when inspiration is needed for work, moving from one spot to another is helpful – even though you already have an established workspace. It is in moments like the latter that the Yoga Tab 11’s weight is a blessing because carrying it is not even a cause for slightest hint of distress. Its battery life can last over 15 hours, which is yet another proof that it is a device that comes in handy.

It is suited for multitasking individuals

Trying to meet deadlines can be a bit stressful. Imagine this: you are almost done with your article. Just a few more lines and you can send it to your editor. But then, the message notifications keep popping on the side of your screen. Well, thanks to the Lenovo Yoga Tab 11, distractions can be prevented. Either use the tablet as that extra screen so all messages coming in are immediately shown while the app is open, or turn it into the main device to get the job done by attaching the magnetic keyboard, which, by the way, seamlessly merges with the tab. Of course, turning off your notifications until you’re done with the article is the best option. But the tablet does suit the multitasking WFH employee, because of its flexibility and capability to seamlessly blend in or work well with other devices and connect via Bluetooth 5.0 or a USB Type-C for data transfer, charging, and headset, regardless of the setup.

The elegantly designed tablet is feature-packed

It is no secret that the tab is a sight for sore-eyes. The fabric finish in Storm Grey makes it chic. But what completes the equation is its set of features that make it a perfect companion not just for work, but also for leisure and entertainment. Powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T with an Octa-Core Processor, the tablet can handle the demands of multitasking, binge-watching, and even immersive online gaming. The 11-inch screen features a 2000 x 1200 resolution and 2K IPS display. Add that with the 16.7 million Color Gamut and 400 nits for Brightness plus a 10-point Multitouch technology? The best reaction for these features in one tablet is *chef’s kiss*.

Audio and communication are not an after-thought

WFH employees would appreciate the single slot, nano SIM card feature of the Yoga Tab 11 simply for the sake of it being an all-in-one device for work. Taking calls online or sending texts using the tablet is possible. So the question now is: is it a tablet for streaming? Is it a lightweight laptop for working? Is it a huge, but light phone for calling or texting? Well – it is all of those things with an Android 11 OS. And because of its Quad JBL Speakers, the sound quality makes the experience even more solid.

There is strength in both storage and security

Downloading multiple files would not be a problem with the Lenovo Yoga Tab 11. It has 4GB &an 8GB RAM options and a 128GB/256GB ROM. With an 8MP Fixed-Focus (TOF + RGB) 99 Wide-Angle front camera, the tablet is enabled for a face unlock for that added security.

An honest downside to the Yoga Tab 11

The Lenovo Yoga Tab 11 does not come with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack—a bummer for audiophiles who only use the best wired earphones or headphones for their audio experience. But then again, they may have made up for it by giving users Quad JBL Speakers (Again, see: Audio and communication are not an after-thought). If you’re big on private listening, prepare to charge and charge and sync and sync your Bluetooth headphones or earphones—perhaps a limiting thing when you are on the move, or conserving power.

The verdict

There are many reasons to love the Lenovo Yoga Tab 11. The verdict is that it is an essential work-from-home device, especially when you need the balance between work and entertainment. It is an enabler of both passion and relaxation. Purchasing the device might just be the best value-for-money decision one can make this year.
