Actress and Christian vlogger Rica Peralejo would rather not go big or “fat,” filled up with “the wrong things,” so that she may continue to trek the narrow path which leads to the good.
This was what she explained in her Instagram post yesterday, March 14, while also sharing photos of herself in a tree-lined and narrow concrete passage.
“The narrow path. Sometimes the Psalms talk about the broad ones, and I do understand this. When we hike up mountains the broader it is, the easier to climb,” she said. “But also, the Bible says narrow is the way that leadeth to life. Small also is the gate. And when you think of that, only the small will fit in such spaces.”
She illustrated her point by sharing that a narrow path was the way to reach a casita in one of her recent staycations.
“Of course I do not mean this literally though it helps to see this kind of path one has to go thru to get to a casita in @punong_garysplace . Sabi nga ng isa kong kaibigan, ‘Ok hindi ako kasya dyan (One friend said, ‘Okay, I will not fit in there),’” she said.
Peralejo then asked how a person could actually fit through a “small gate and narrow road that leads to life?” She thus prays that she does not grow big in the wrong way.

“Kaya Lord ayokong tumaba sa mga maling bagay ha Materially, spiritually, and all that jazz. Alam naman natin yan, ang dami naman kasing malalaking bagay na hangin lang (. (1 Cor 8:1) Kaya [di bale] nang maliit, basta sure na totoo at makakapasok, ” she said.
(So Lord, I don’t want to get fat with the wrong things, OK?… We all know that, there’s so many huge things that’s just air. Small is OK, as long as it’s surely true and we can enter.)
“Who would’ve thought ano (right)? That at 41, my desire is to go smaller,” Peralejo said. “Life is so strange that way.” JB
