Playing Ivy, the antagonist girlfriend of Akira Morishita’s Lucas character in “Bola Bola,” has brought Danica Ontengco to learn some important lessons about herself.

“Aside from the fact na kontrabida siya kay Thea (Francine Diaz), siguro ang natutunan ko sa character ko is love yourself first kasi masyado siyang dependent kay Lucas, eh. Parang buong mundo niya ay umiikot lang kay Lucas,” Ontengco said during the online press conference for the iWant series, last March 20.

(Aside from the fact that (my character) is the antagonist of Thea, maybe what I learned from my character is to love yourself first, because she is too dependent on Lucas. It’s like her whole world revolved around only Lucas.)

Since Ontengco has worked with some of the cast members in previous projects like “Kadenang Ginto” and “Click, Like, Share,” she is already very comfortable with them.

“It’s super fun naman. Everything is smooth sailing. Lahat kami magka-vibes kaya super gaan ng pakiramdam ko rin. Super happy lang ako to be part of this series,” she said. (We all share good vibes which is why I feel super light. I am just super happy to be part of this series.)

Ontengco was part of the third batch of Squad Plus which includes Renshi de Guzman, Margaux Montana, Angelica Lao, Keann Johnson and Raven Rigor. She also played the antagonist in “Kadenang Ginto.” Aside from these, she also has her own YouTube channel. JB
