Dimples Romana, through her Kakay Sicat character in “Viral Scandal,” has earned a deeper understanding of what it takes for a woman to weather the most difficult of challenges.
The series is about a young woman, Ikay, (Charlie Dizon) who got embroiled in a sex scandal which has gone viral. Romana plays Dizon’s mother, a returning OFW.
Nobody wants to be part of a scandal, ‘di ba?” Romana said during the online press conference yesterday, May 3, for the series’ last two weeks of airing.
(The fight of women here, not only women, we saw different perspective when it comes to curbing or facing a viral scandal.)
Romana also realized that her character made her even stronger.
(As in it reminded me that women really possess innate strength. And not only that, because when you consider her being a mother, her being a victim of the situations she went through in the past, she was strengthened by what she has gone through and by every circumstance. That’s one of the strongest suits I carried and hopefully I was able to convey to people.)
Aside from Dizon and Romana, “Viral Scandal” also stars Jake Cuenca, Maxene Magalona, Ria Atayde, Markus Paterson, Jameson Blake and Joshua Garcia, with Dado Lumibao and Froi Leonard as directors. It will have its final episode next week. JB
