While still mourning the death of the Queen of Philippine Movies, Susan Roces, actress Lovi Poe just had another reason to be even sadder, after her longtime, favorite pet dog died.
Poe expressed her grief over the death of her pet Chibby, as can be seen on her Instagram page today, May 23, where she shared two photos of herself with her fur baby.
“My heart is broken. Oh Chibby, my first baby. Why did you leave us so abruptly?” she said.
Poe recalled how she met Chibby who was walking aimlessly in the street.
“They say, we don’t choose our dogs, but they choose us. I remember seeing her across the street with no intention of getting a dog and before you know it, I was using my first paycheck from my first TV show so I can take her home,” she recalled.
It was love at first sight for Poe seeing Chibby for the first time.

“I instantly fell in love with her,” she admitted.
Needless to say, Chibby witnessed so many phases of Poe’s life, including her ups and downs. In the end, she wished for eternal rest for Chibby, who is now reunited with her other pets who have passed on.
“We kind of grew up together, and I didn’t think I was going to have to say goodbye to another one of my fur babies. I hope you’re playing with Seth in heaven,” she addressed Chibby. Poe also appealed to fellow pet lovers, “Please hug your pets a little tighter today.” JB
