Actress Dimples Romana has every reason to smile these days. After her recent stint as juror during the 50th International Emmy Awards night, she announced that she has become a member of the prestigious academy as well.
On Instagram, Romana gushed over her extraordinary experience as she thanked her glam team who came with her all the way to New York City.
“It was my first time to attend the festivities face to face, flew from Manila to New York together with my team, my manager @alan_m_real , a major plus to be with my fashion and celebrity photographer and friend @shairaluna , stylist @cathsobrevega , make up artist @mikkamarcaida and hair stylist @iamantoniopapa to make this trip truly a memorable one, which felt even more special since I didn’t only go as a juror this time but also as a new, officially elected academy member,” she said in her post.
That said, she felt she was “about to cry” as “growth feels good and progress always a welcome feeling.”
Romana shared how she was “inspired by the two women who were awarded that night, Ms Miky Lee, Directorate Emmy Awardee and Ms @ava Duvernay, Founders Emmy Awardee — both visionaries and game changers, who spoke words of encouragement and hope for women like myself to make a mark in the creative space, to push not only for people, but for stories to be told and in the end still be grounded and humble even after all the successes they have reached.”
“In my 25 years as an actor, I have to say this day may just be one of my most favorite just yet. And I have a funny feeling, there’ll be more to come, ”she said, congratulating the winners and nominees.
She felt that it was a “privilege to be able to watch some of the most powerful contents ever created. I made lots of new friends from all over the world.”
She vividly remembered how one personality remark that “if your dream is only for yourself, it is too small” made an impact on her.
“That it’s okay to dream big not just for yourself but also, most especially for other people who share your same journey and hopes as well. I pray that from this day forward, we 🇵🇭 will be able to showcase more of our rich culture, arts and people to the world and make a difference through our beautiful stories,” she said.
“May we all continue to aspire opening doors not just for ourselves but also to HOLD THE DOOR so others may enter too. After all, there will never be a shortage of blessings, we just have to learn to see them and embrace them when it comes for us,” she added. EDV
