Maybe jaws dropped at the premiere performance of the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil in Manila last June 22, but what stole the show at the premiere night cocktails was a delightful cake by cake-maker Penk Ching titled “Fanciful Fantasy.”
The cake featured exquisite sugar acrobats prancing around an arch, which emanated from a miniature globe, with a round platform for a base. Ching, a favorite wedding cake-maker, has scored another winner with the finely detailed creation, now on display at the lobby of Manila Hotel.
Cirque du Soleil will perform in Manila until July, in a specially constructed tent at the Quirino Grandstand area.
