It’s so beautiful to see home kitchen businesses flourish into big business with orders flying off the shelves. This is exactly what Sandra’s Specialties have evolved into. I love that her menu is not overwhelmingly abundant with too many dishes but just the fare that she has mastered and oh how well she does it!
Known for her delicious crabs, she now has me drooling over her version of cuapao. It is a rich and tender Chinese pork stew that you scoop into a soft cuapao bun with picked vegetables and some wansoy (cilantro). I can easily have three of these buns. They’re just so so good.
Going back to her crabs which have been consistently delicious through the years, having them on your holiday and birthday (or any celebration) tables is a must. She uses hefty male crabs and additionally makes butter garlic or her signature chili curry sauce. A pro tip here, always have that extra curry sauce on the side. You’re going to want to keep dousing your steaming bowl of rice with it. No occasion and just want to have it at home? Her portioning is adequate. Congratulations Sandra! I can’t wait to sink my teeth into these again soon.
