4 Local Make-up Products That Are Staples in My Everyday Routine | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

With the number of beauty products I have in my vanity, creating a capsule kit that accounts for my everyday essentials is a must. I have found holy-grail products that are a staple in my make-up routine, and dare I say irreplaceable–some of which are Filipino made.

Here are four locally-made products that I cannot live without.

Happy Skin Second Skin Tinted Moisturizer – ₱765.00

Being an absolute fan of Happy Skin’s complexion products, their tinted moisturizer has made its way into my makeup routine with such ease. The Happy Skin Second Skin Tinted Moisturizer promises a non-sticky base with a sheer to medium coverage. And this product absolutely delivers! This tinted moisturizer applies like a dream with its watery and almost serum-like consistency making it easy to blend. It leaves your skin with the most naturally dewy finish giving your skin a healthy glow.

This product also claims to have nourishing ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Kahai Oil, Squalane, Niacinamide, SPF 20, and Anti-Blue Light Technology that works to improve your skin. This makes for the perfect everyday product to not only create an even base but also get the added benefits of skincare ingredients while wearing makeup.

Strokes Brow Fixer in Clear – ₱398.00

One makeup product that I absolutely cannot live without is the Strokes Brow Fixer and Stroke Brow Sculptor. I have tried numerous brow gels both high-end and drugstore, and nothing can compare to the Bro Fixers’ performance and most importantly its value. At ₱398.00 you get a stronghold, long-lasting brow gel that will set your eyebrow hairs in place all day long. This brow gel applies clear, making eyebrow sculpting easy and mess-free. This is perfect for the brushed-up brow look to create the illusion of an instant brow lift without having to get plastic surgery.

The Issy & Co. Active Concealer – ₱399.00

The Issy & Co. Active Concealer is marketed to be a hydrating concealer that visibly brightens skin and provides medium to full coverage. Admittedly, this product isn’t the most high-coverage concealer I’ve ever tried, however, I fell in love with this product for a different reason.

I have found that this concealer is perfect for color correcting and contouring. With its hydrating formula and wide shade range, this product works well for layering. I use the shade “PM3” which has a peachy undertone to cancel out the darkness under my eyes before applying a brightening concealer over it. Their contour shades are also one of my favorites as it is highly pigmented and incredibly blendable. I usually apply a single tiny dot on places I would like to contour such as my temples, under my cheekbones, and on my jawline using the doe foot applicator it comes with, and then blend with a dense flat top brush for an airbrush-like finish. I’m telling you a little comes a long way when it comes to this product!

Sunnies Face Lip Treat – ₱320

If you’ve noticed, the theme for my makeup essentials is lightweight and hydrating products that are for everyday use. Personally, I’ve been loving more natural and weightless lip products as opposed to high pigment and matte lips. So I have found myself gravitating towards Sunnies Face Lip Treat a lot.

This lippie is a nourishing lip balm that gives off the perfect amount of color in just one swipe. And on days when I’m looking for the most natural wash of color, I apply this by lightly dabbing it on my lips. This product is packed with healthy ingredients like Shea Butter,  Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Collagen, and vitamin E that will hydrate your lips all day long.
