Stars flocked to Venice, Italy as Golden Goose kicked off its HAUS of Dreamers series
Venice, Italy served as the cinematic backdrop for Italian luxury brand Golden Goose as stars from all corners of the globe made their way to celebrate HAUS of Dreamers.
Described as “a global cultural platform to unleash creativity,” Lifestyle.INQ Editor in Chief Ria Prieto, made her way to the Floating City alongside actress Julia Barretto, TV host Mond Gutierrez, and editor Anton San Diego.
Having tapped five multifaceted global artists: Suki Waterhouse, Dr. Woo, Quannah Chasinghorse, SUNMI and Fabio Novembre as “The Dreamers”, Golden Goose treated guests to an immersive art-filled evening with each Dreamer showcasing their modern interpretations of Venetian icons.
To kick-off festivities, Italian Architect and Designer Fabio Novembre transformed the iconic Venice Pescheria into a tunnel made of blue arches that decreased in size with a view of Venice Grand Canal awaiting at the end. As guests walked through the cerulean portal, the sound of a heartbeat paced their every step. “It’s like a manifesto of love for this magical city. To me, Venice is alive.” said Novembre.
Following Novembre was Native American Land Protector and Model Quannah Chasinghorse who took to stage with a poem as she stood between a classic Venetian gold leaf wooden frame, positioned on top of the Rialto bridge. Guests cruised down the canal as Chasinghorse performed. Inspired by her background and heritage, it perfectly encapsulated Venice’s history of nurturing a multitude of different cultures.
As their cruise through the canal came to an end, guests then landed at The Venice Venice Hotel where the evening continued with an installation by tattoo artist Dr. Woo.
Drawing inspiration from Venetian damask, Woo translated his craft by draping the interiors of the hotel with local textiles and porcelain to evoke the skin and bone of the city. His signature designs found new life in fabric and antique plates.
“The Dreamers were all impressive. Although I must admit, I lusted over the plates designed by Dr. Woo,” shared Prieto when asked which out of the five dreamers’ performances she enjoyed the most.
“He said he chose to use plates as his medium since relationships are formed and beautiful events are celebrated around the table during a meal. A beautiful testament, I believe, to the brands core values of living and loving life.”
Actress, Singer, and Model Suki Waterhouse lined the entrance of the hotel with a series of iconic photos of the city, captured through her lens. Gradually affixing photographs of guests to an installation, Suki created artistic keepsakes of an unforgettable night. “My dreams are my passion. I don’t want to recognize who I am now in two years, three years,” said Waterhouse as she sat in front of her polaroids.
For the evening’s final performance, South Korean artist SUNMI serenaded guests over a candle-lit dinner, accompanied by a traditional Venetian orchestra. Warm shades of light spilled over plates as an endless bed of roses flooded each table.
Alluding to the highlight of her trip, Prieto revealed: “It was definitely meeting the people behind the brand. To see their creativity and inclusivity first hand was inspiring,”.
“I’ve had Golden Goose sneakers since 2017, but I wasn’t really familiar with their clothing. Getting the chance to wear and bring home a couple of pieces I know I’ll wear is a great memento from the trip. Plus, I now have a favourite scent in perfume and candle form called…Venice!”
Golden Goose’s celebration of dreamers through conversation around art, music, architecture, and craftsmanship will continue in Paris during Fashion Week in October 2023.
