Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda has been used to playing golf even at a young age, having been introduced to the sport with his younger brother by their father.

Taking to Instagram, Miranda recalled how he enjoyed playing golf when he was younger, showing off snippets of himself while swinging golf clubs

“Nung mga bata kami ng kuya ko, pina-golf kami ng tatay ko,” he said. (When we were kids, my father had us play golf).

Miranda however that he was not as good at the game as his brother because he did not enjoy the pressures that comes with the sport. It was enough for him to be able to swing and walk the fairway and enjoy the noodle cups and hard boiled eggs that they would chance upon as they walk around the range to retrieve the golf balls.

“Di ko na-enjoy yung pressure at yung stress na kelangan mo galingan mag-golf. Gusto ko kasi yung tipong papalo lang, tapos lalakad lang, habang nagmumuni-muni at ine-enjoy lang yung mga tanawin,” he said. (I did not enjoy the pressure and stress that came with the sport. I just wanted to swing some clubs, take a walk and enjoy the scenery.)

It’s a good thing that between the two of them, it was his brother who did not stop playing and even excelled at the game, Miranda said.

But it doesn’t appear to bother the musician, as for him, the most important thing is not winning the game, but enjoying it. Of course, he said that he still had to work on his form.

“Kanina, sumama ako sa mga friends ko mag-driving dito sa village. Ayun, di pa rin ako magaling, at sablay pa rin yung form ko… pero di ako na-pressure or na-stress kasi walang paki yung mga kaibigan ko kahit matagal na silang nag-lalaro. Gusto nila masaya lang din,” he said.

(A while ago, I went with my friends and we went driving in the village. I still wasn’t good at it, and my form is still off, but I did not feel the pressure to win because my friends didn’t care about it, even though they have been playing for so long. They just want to be happy, just like I do.) EDV
