South Korea’s famous Kkanbu Chicken opens first overseas branch in Solaire

OCTOBER 27, 2022

If there’s any other Asian country that could parallel our love for fried chicken, it could very well be South Korea.

Fried chicken entered the Korean diet and gained popularity in the ‘60s and ‘70s, and has since become an everyday staple. Now, it’s also a big part of popular Korean food culture. You might have even heard of the concept of chimaek, or chicken and beer—a delectable pairing that you’d normally see on an evening stroll through Korea’s busy streets.

This love for fried chicken has birthed many chicken concepts in Korea, including the famous Kkanbu Chicken. With over 170 branches in Korea, it may well be one of the most iconic fried chicken chains offering a sizable variety of flavors and chicken dishes.

The Philippines also has its own love affair with fried chicken—having welcomed the dish onto our plates as early as the post-war era of the ‘40s. Fast forward to 2022, and fried chicken has reportedly become the most-ordered food item by Filipinos. It comes as no surprise then that Solaire Resort has decided to bring South Korea’s famous fried chicken brand to Manila—making it the first international branch of the chicken franchise, to boot.

For its Manila debut, Kkanbu Chicken is bringing its legacy of exceptional Korean fried chicken to Solaire Resort. This adds to Solaire’s growing portfolio of rich global culinary offerings.

Other Kkanbu favorites are also expected to make it to the Manila menu.

With such an established name in the world of Korean fried chicken finally making its way to Philippine shores, Solaire’s guests can be sure that they’ll receive the highest standard of flavor and quality for fried chicken—it’ll be just as good as eating in Korea.
