Eastwood City dazzles with Biggest and Brightest Light Show in the Country

Eastwood City Christmas Light Show

Over 2.5 million immersive lights and sounds set to regale revelers at the metro’s brightest Christmas celebration

Eastwood City is lighting up the most festive season with a dazzling display of colors, music, and lights through more than 2.5 million sparkling lights and a first-of-its-kind lights and sound show that is the biggest and the brightest the Philippines has ever seen.

“Eastwood Holiday Lightscapades,” an original and fully immersive lights and sound show by Filipino lighting designer John Batalla is the centerpiece of this year’s celebration at Eastwood City.

Situated at the heart of Eastwood Mall Open Park, the highlight of the show is a 20-foot Christmas tree sculpture crafted from NASA-grade MYLAR laminated chromed metal attached to a revolving frame. Various light sources synchronized to the beat of remixed holiday music are reflected on the centerpiece, while haze and bubble effects emanate from the structure, creating a truly immersive experience and a colorful visual spectacle for the audience.

Adding more bursts of color to the visual feast are international-grade laser points featuring the latest lighting technology placed strategically around the open park’s adjacent structures, accentuating and illuminating the surrounding buildings and structures that further immerses the audience in a vibrant display of colorful lights.

The reflective Christmas tree display is created by Batalla together with Ohm David, a renowned professor and theatre set designer who has worked on some of the biggest musical productions in the metro, including the 2019 SEA Games opening ceremonies. The inspiration for the metallic chrome tree was centered on the “movement forward” mantra of Batalla and David, with the reflective parts inviting viewers to not just look at the past but look forward to the future.

Eastwood Holiday Lightscapades runs every 20 minutes from 6PM to 10PM. The lights and sound show has three sets of music suites that last for five minutes each. The music suites feature a medley of meaningful, modern, and upbeat songs curated and remixed by Arvy Dimaculangan, who has scored music on various local theater productions.

“Eastwood Holiday Lightscapades exemplifies the beauty in diversity and the many beautiful things and possibilities we can create together when we all converge at a single point. The tree is a reflection of our hope for the season, the renewal that it brings, and the joys etched on each of our faces as we celebrate the best season in the Philippines. Just like what the artists who made this possible said, it is a great moment for us to look ahead to the future and enjoy what this Christmas brings,” shared Graham Coates, head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.

“Eastwood Holiday Lightscapades” light show at the Eastwood Mall Open Park is just one of the many Christmas attractions families can enjoy at Eastwood City.

Towering over Eastwood City is the 50-foot giant Christmas Tree adorned with larger-than-life decorations inspired by Christmas nostalgia including giant gift boxes, toys, drums and more. Lighted displays inspired by Christmas characters are lined up in the township’s main thoroughfares while decorations are also placed around Eastwood Mall, Eastwood Citywalk, Eastwood Central Plaza and Fuente Circle where customers can also take their photos
