A taste of Mexico and beyond: Blanco Castelar

Traveling for me remains to be one of my favorite things in life. Away from what I’m familiar with, I’m awarded the rare opportunity to rejuvenate and unwind, free of any stressful and unwanted thoughts – not to mention, with a view and company no amount can buy. Immersing myself in a foreign culture is a plus too, and what better way to do so than by experiencing the best food a locality has to offer.

And in Mexico City, Blanco Castelar is one to not miss out on.

A member of Grupo Carolo, Blanco Castelar is located at Casa Domit on Emilio Castelar Street. It is a Californian-style building designed by architect Shafick Kaim in 1939 – suitable to house this gastronomic jewel that prides itself on its Mexican-European fusion cuisine.

A taste of Mexico and beyond, dining here was a multi-national gustatory experience – an additional vacation in its own right – a memory I don’t see getting topped any time soon.

Blanco Castelar presents a sizeable menu that I’ve only been able to scratch the surface of. My favorites however were their Wagyu Aguachile, Punta Mita, and Lemon Surprise.
